If you see the error "Operation Terminated" on your utility device when trying to program a lock, check that the door file you are choosing is correct and that the correct lock type is installed on the door. This error is usually the result of attempting to program a bedroom file onto a front door or a front door file onto a bedroom lock.
Note that there are three types of locks and door files in SAMrf:
- Units (usually used for bedroom doors or sometimes front doors)
- Suites (used for front doors)
- Common areas (used for common areas, amenities, or staff areas)
The model number of the lock can help you determine which type it is, but is only visible when the lock is off of the door.
If the lock is already installed on the door, you can use the Get Lock Info option to see if it recognizes itself as a Unit, Suite or Common Area lock. (See page #152 of the electronic user manual for full instructions on this procedure.)
If you think the wrong lock type is installed on the door, verify this and remove the lock from the door to be swapped with the correct lock type.
If the model number shows that it is the correct lock type and the door file you are choosing for it is correct, but you still receive this error, contact your distributor for help.
