Procedure to Initialize a New Red Programming Key into a PED-1000 or PED-500. For this procedure utilize a user key that is valid in the unit, a new red programming key, and an HHD.
1. Present user key and the PED should flash green and unlock. [User key = Blue or Grey, can be Master key]
2. While the green light is flashing present the new red programming key. [Light turns solid red]
3. Then press the Schlage button 5 times. [Light remains red, beeps each time it’s pressed]
4. Red LED remains on solid.
5. Present the new red programming key again, unit will lock and LED will flash red & green showing program mode.
6. Use an HHD to download the update into the unit. [Use StratIS tablet to connect to door and program door. If lock connection times out and beeps, must restart procedure from step 1.]
7. The new red programming key will then be saved as the current red programming key.
[Note: old red key remains the lock’s programming credential until step 6 is completed successfully.]
